“Twice Rescued: From Past to Future” - online lecture by Daria Babich, Conservator of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts

24 June 2020, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow, in collaboration with the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Chennai organized an online lecture “From Past to the Future”. It was the first lecture in a number of events prior to the “Twice Rescued” exhibition inauguration at the RCSC Chennai in September 2020.

Daria Babich’s lecture gave an insight into the complex history of the pieces and the work put into their restoration. The webinar was attended by more than 80 students, teachers and professors from Anna Adarsh College for Women, Presidency College, Stella Maris College, Bangalore University, Madras universities, and etc. After the lecture, Daria Babich answered numerous questions of the audience about the collection restoration details and about plans to develop the Russian-Indian relations in this interesting and important field.

The exhibition “Twice Rescued” dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, features photographs showing the results of many years of conservator’s work with art objects damaged during the Second World War and transferred to Russia.
