November 13, a concert of the Moscow Ensemble of Brass wind instruments “New Life Brass named after Timofey Dokshitzer was held in “Narada Ghana Sabha” concert hall in Chennai. The concert was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation jointly with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) within the framework of the Days of Russian Culture in India – 2018.
Honorary guests of the program were Mr. Oleg Avdeev, Consul General of the Russian Federation in South India and Mrs. S. Manoranjitham, Regional Director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
The New Life Brass Ensemble is a classical quintet of brass instruments. The repertoire of the group covers a significant part of the world musical culture and includes popular classical, jazz and pop songs.
To enjoy the music by Russian musicians gathered the representatives of Indian cultural and business elite, diplomatic corps, Indian-Russian friendship societies, alumni of Soviet and Russian universities, members of public associations and clubs cooperating with the RCSC, students of the Russian language courses, journalists and Russian compatriots.
The performance of the Russian quintet in Chennai was bright and memorable. Chennaites appreciated great mastery, strength of brass instruments, energy and creative movement to musicians.
The concert ended with stormy prolonged applause, the audience did not disperse for a long time, they communicated with the musicians and wished them further creative success.
