September 16, a literary evening “Poets of the Pushkin’s era” was hosted at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture. The program held within the framework of the Russian language day.
The event was organized by the Association of compatriots in Chennai.
On this day compatriots gathered in the library of the RCSC, to remember the wonderful poets who lived and worked on the same time of Alexander Pushkin – V.A. Zhukovsky, K.N. Batyushkov, D.V. Davydov, P.A. Viazemsky, A.A. Delvig, V.K. Kuchelbecker, E.A. Baratynsky and others.
A lecture-presentation on “Russian literature of the 19th century and its features” was made by Ms. V. Maiorova, Head of the Russian language courses. She underlined that the Pushkin’s period of Russian poetry opened Golden Age of our literature and remained unsurpassed of mighty creative rise of a domestic muse.
Coordinator of the compatriots in Chennai, Ms.Tatiana Sysoeva, spoke about poet VA Zhukovsky, who worked in the beginning of the 19th century.
An interesting interactive program was prepared for the participants of the evening. Adults and children read poems of the poets of the Pushkin’s era and participated in the games based on knowledge of the Russian language.
The school at the Consulate General of Russia screened a cartoon show based on Pushkin's verse “the tale of the Fisherman and the Fish”, which was jointly organized by the schoolchildren with their parents.
At the end, all the participants of the program received mementoes.
The event was held in a warm, pleasant and family atmosphere and ended with a friendly tea party.
