The new phase of a series of international educational events “I'm going to study in Russia!” with the participation of representatives of the leading Russian universities was held online on October 27-28, 2020. This largest event was initiated by the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, fellow countrymen living abroad, and under the International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) and was a meet-up for 830 or so of the interested listeners on site.
Olga Aleksandrovna Filonova, Head of the Department for Implementation of Projects in Science and Education of #Rossotrudnichestvo, greeted the participants and speakers of the educational marathon and specifically noted that Russian education became popular among students from India and the scope of cooperation in the field of education needs to be widened:
The educational marathon was attended by the leading universities of Russia, providing the most relevant areas of modern education – engineering, technology and technical sciences, mathematics and natural sciences, humanities, history of technical education in Russia. The main participants are MSTU "STANKIN", St. Petersburg State University, Nizhny Novgorod State University named after Lobachevsky, Moscow Financial and Industrial University "Synergy", National Research University "Higher School of Economics" (HSE), St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, Ivanovo State Power Engineering University named after V.I. Lenin (ISPEU), National Research Tomsk State University, Oryol State University named after Turgenev — a total of 20 universities.
In the format of the two-day webinar, the representatives of Russian universities presented the capabilities of Russian education, answered various questions from everyone interested in starting or continuing their studies in Russia, and even made suggestions that would help to more effectively organize such events in the future.
Educational programs in English and Russian, online learning opportunities and a broad geographical spread of educational institutions showcased at the educational exhibition, became particularly topical for the Indian audience.
The most discussed topics of the webinar are a comparison of educational programs available under quotas, preferential terms on a commercial basis, the rules and procedures for studying in Russia, technologies used in the learning process, the potentialities of students and graduates of Russian universities, areas and formats of training, the structure of the education system, admission criteria, rules for entering the country and standards of living in Russia.

The project "I'm going to study in Russia!" is implemented on the initiative and support of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of the Independent States, fellow countrymen living abroad, and under the International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) within the framework of the State Program for the Development of Education approved by a resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation. The event focuses on the popularization of Russian vocational education and attracting fellow countrymen and foreign citizens to study in Russia.
Today, 298,000 students from 170 countries of the world study in Russian universities, 205 areas of training have been opened for foreign applicants in 766 universities in 82 regions of the country from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok. Diplomas from Russian universities are recognized in most European countries, so the demand for Russian education remains consistently high.
