Book Release ceremony of childhood period of Maxim Gorky at the RCSC in Chennai

On September 8, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture hosted the presentation of a book “on the childhood period of Maxim Gorky” by an Indian writer Ilavenil. The book is written in Tamil language and is dedicated to the 151st anniversary of the world-famous Russian writer Maxim Gorky.

This book has become one more significant contribution to the cultural cooperation of the two countries. The participants of the presentation highly appreciated the strong effort of Mr. Ilavenil and expressed the firm hope that this initiative will be supported and developed in future. The first copy of the book was presented by Dr. Jagathratchagan, Member of Parliament to Mr. Gennadii Rogalev, Director of the RCSC in Chennai. Other speakers like Mr. G. Ramakrishnan, Politburo Member of the CPI (M), Prof. SUPA. Veerapandian, Secretary Dravida Iyakka Tamilar Peravai and Mr. D. Lenin, Janasakthi Editorial Group and others also shared their thoughts at the book presentation.

Around 100 people representatives of the public and cultural organizations of the city took part in the event. The event was widely covered by the local media.
