On April 3, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture held a press-conference, dedicated to the Scholarship programs in Russian Universities. The conference was presented by Mr. Yuri Belov, Vice-consul, Press and Public Relation of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Chennai, Mr. Gennadii Rogalev, Director of the RCSC in Chennai and Mr. C. Ravichandran, Director of Study Abroad Educational Consultants. The correspondents from leading local media attended the conference.
The Director of the RCSC Mr. Gennadii Rogalev spoke about the possibility of obtaining a free education in Russian universities within the Scholarship grants allocated by the Government of the Russian Federation. He informed the journalists about the selection procedure for foreign students within the scholarship program, including the list of required documents, the timing of the entrance screening tests and the selection criteria. He also emphasized that the RCSC is directly involved in providing information and consulting support to the Indian students, on the issues of selection and registration to study at Russian universities.
Vice-consul Mr. Yuri Belov said that in recent years the number of student visas issued by the Consulate General in Chennai is increased.
The information about the commercial basis educational programs in Russian universities was presented by the director of “Staudy Abroad” Mr. C. Ravichandran.
At the end of the press conference Mr. Rogalev invited all on the Day of Russian education, which will take place on 6 April at the RCSC in Chennai. On this day, all who want to learn more about the educational opportunities in Russian universities will be able to ask questions and get consultation.
The result of the press conference was the numerous articles of the information about the Scholarship education program in Russia published in the media of south India (and, in particular, such popular ones like The Hindu and Times of India).
