A conference “The role of education in human life” was hosted at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture on August 30. The event was dedicated to the Knowledge Day and was organized by the “Probus club” Indian nongovernmental organization, for distribution of scholarships to the most successful high school students from low-income families.
Mr. Gennadii Rogalev, Director of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, wished the students good luck and success for their further studies and congratulated them on getting the scholarships. His colleague Ms. Ketki Chandrasekar, in detail spoke about the advantages of Russian higher education and possibility of studying in Russian universities on scholarships quotas allotted by the Government of Russia for Indian citizens.
During the conference, other guests - professors and scholars spoke about the importance of getting a good education for a successful future.
The event was attended by more than 370 students from 75 schools in Chennai and nearby areas.
