On January 25, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture hosted an inauguration of Indo-Russian Cinemas Film Union along with the launch of an exclusive Mobile Application named “Play Button”. The event was organized together with the Indo-Russian Cinemas.

The Film Union is formed to support Independent technicians across South India and it will serve as a platform for uniting Independent Talents. And the Play Button Mobile Application will feature shorts films, documentaries and feature films exclusively. They can stream some beautiful movies free of cost.

The event was attended by Justice Vallinayagam, Highcourt Judge (retd.), Mr. Venkatesh Kumar, President Indo – Russian Cinemas, as well as club and Union members, and others from film industry.

In his speech Mr. Venkatesh Kumar stressed on the need for starting up such things which can support independent technicians and a mobile platform for the short film industry. He highlighted 3 major incidents in his life which influenced his decision to start this project. He also spoke on how the current cinema functions and how it badly needs a change.
