The Future of BRICS discussed in Chennai

The results of the 12th BRICS Summit and the future of the organization were discussed by Indian experts at a webinar organized by the RCSC Chennai and The Peninsula Foundation with the support of the Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute. The webinar took place on November 27.

"Currently, the priority of the BRICS is to coordinate collective measures to combat the Coronavirus pandemic, improve the interaction of our epidemiological services and protect the life and health of our citizens," - said Mr. Anton Chernov, Consul of the Russian Federation in Chennai.

The topic “Importance of developing cooperation between the BRICS countries during the Coronavirus pandemic” was also raised by Air Marshal M. Matheswaran, Chairman and founder of The Peninsula Foundation.

Mr. Muthu Kumar, Chief Editor of the “Trinity Mirror” newspaper, shared his ideas on the prospects of the BRICS organization. “BRICS can unite universities and create scientific alliances for the benefit of today's youth, which will have access to the latest knowledge and advanced technologies. This will lay the foundation for the future world," he said.

In his speech, Mr. R. Manivanan, Prof. and Head, Dept. of Political Science and Public Administration at Madras University, gave special attention to “BRICS and Civilisational quest for Equity and World Order.

Mr. A. Manickam, Expert in international relations, former Ambassador of India to Finland and Estonia, told about the importance of cooperation in the BRICS format for India.
