Russian artists unveiled a portrait of Viswanathan Anand at the RCSC in Chennai

March 8, The Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Chennai hosted a presentation of the portrait of Viswanathan Anand. The Guest of honour of the event was the 15th World Chess Champion, World Famous Chess Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand. The portrait was presented by the famous Russian artist, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of arts Vladimir Anisimov and the author of portrait Olga Yakusheva.

In his speech, Anand nostalgically recalled his years spent in the chess school at the Russian Cultural Centre and thanked the artists for the presentation of the portrait.

The presentation aroused great interest among young chess players in Chennai who came to the RCSC to see their Sports Icon and get his autograph.

Information about the event was published in one of India’s leading newspapers “The Hindu”, as well as the local print media “Trinity Mirror” and “Makkal Kural”.
