A classical music concert to celebrate the Defender of the Fatherland Day in Russia held at the RCSC in Chennai

February 20th, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture successfully held a concert of classical music “Sounds of the Beauty” dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day in Russia.

Among the honourable guests were Mr. Kim Hyung Tae, Consul General of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Hiroko Taniguchi, Deputy Consul General of Japan and Dr. Surijeet Chatterji, Head of the Russian Piano Studio in Chennai. The concert was attended by Indian Military, Heads of the Theosophical Society, Alumni of Soviet and Russian universities, representatives of the scientific and musical community of the city, Russian compatriots and admirers of classical music. Around 200 people attended the concert.

At the opening of the concert Mr. Gennadii Rogalev, Director of the RCSC, wished all the servicemen of the armed forces on the upcoming Defender of the Fatherland Day and spoke about the traditions of this holiday in Russia.

A real gift for all the guests was classical music performed by the laureate of international competitions Nadezhda Pakulova. Works by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Chopin were performed.

The concert aroused great interest among the local public. Information about the event was published in the city newspapers “The Hindu” and “Trinity Mirror”.
