170 people took part in an educational activity “Open Laboratory 2019” in Chennai

9 February on the Day of Russian Science, the RCSC in Chennai successfully hosted a global educational activity “Open Laboratory 2019. It was dedicated to the Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements by D. I. Mendeleev and the partners of the “Open laboratory” in Chennai were “Study Abroad” and “Knowledge Foundation”.

'Open laboratory' — is a fun test of your ideas about the world through the prism of physical, chemical and biological knowledge.

Indian schoolchildren, their parents and teachers came to test their knowledge. In total, 170 people from 10 schools in Chennai took part in the activity.

After answering the questions of “Laboratory”, all the participants learned their results and analyzed each task with the “Head of Laboratory” Dr. Jayakumar Venkatesan, Space Scientist and CEO of Valles Marineris.

The Chief Guest of the action was Mr. Ramesh Santhanam, Chief Innovation Officer; IIT Madras Research Park (IIT Madras is one of the leading universities in the region) and Mr. Justin Antony, CEO of Knowledge Foundation awarded the participants (who gave the most correct answers) with diplomas and mementos from the RCSC.

Everyone who wrote the 'laboratory' quiz test, soon will receive the certificate of participation.

At the end, a presentation about the history of space exploration and the achievements of Russian scientists in this field was conducted for the children.
