Concert of Russian folk dance at the RCSC in Chennai

January 11, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Chennai hosted a concert of Russian dance group from the city of Rostov-on-don, which was a part of the International Dance Festival. The event was organized by the Indo Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (IRCCI) with the support of the RCSC in Chennai.

Mr. M.C. Sampath, Minister of Industrial Development, Tamil Nadu, Mr. Oleg Avdeev, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Chennai, Mr. Gennadii Rogalev, Director of the RCSC in Chennai, Mr. V.M. Lakshminarayanan, Founder Chairman of IRCCI and Mr. R. Veeramani, President of IRCCI attended the opening of the festival and addressed the guests of the evening.

The audience enjoyed the vibrant dance program, which featured traditional Russian folk dances, ballet miniatures and modern dance compositions. The festival was organized for the Tamil feast “Pongal” and will be held at different venues in Chennai, Coimbatore, Ooty, Nagercoil and Mettupalyam.

To enjoy the performances of the Russian collective gathered representatives of public and nongovernmental organizations, admirers of art and Russian compatriots.
