October 2, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture was held a conference on “Indo-Russian humanitarian relations”, dedicated to the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The event was organized by the Indo-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (IRCCI) jointly with the RCSC and with the participation of “Youth Forum of Gandhian Studies and BRICS Generation”.
The conference was attended by Mr. Oleg Avdeev, Consul General of the Russian Federation, Ms. Yulia Antonova, Vice Consul, Mr. Gennadii Rogalev, Director of the RCSC, Mr. Kadambur Raju, Minister for Information and Publicity Govt. of Tamil Nadu, Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai, CEO and Managing Director of Indo-Russian joint project “BrahMos”, Mr. R. Veeramani, President of IRCCI, Mr. N. Ram, Editor and Publisher “The Hindu”, Mr. R. Muthu Kumar, Editor and Publisher “Trinity Mirror”, Mr. G. Ramkumar, Managing Director of “Shivaji Productions”, Mr. G. Sundaravadivelu, Vice President of IRCCI and Dr. P Krishnan, Publisher of “Kamala Pathippagam”.
Consul General Mr. Oleg Avdeev spoke about the special confidential character of Russian-Indian relations. He underlined that a bilateral summit scheduled on October 5 in India will give a new impulse to our cooperation.
Minister Mr. Kadambur Raju in his speech stressed that the friendship between the two great countries, Russia and India, has always been strong and will remain so forever.
Mr. N. Ram, Head of the well-known newspaper of the city “The Hindu” said that Despite Western attempts to impose a false impression of Russia in India; He does not see that this propaganda has any serious impact. India has a strong immunity to this kind of misinformation".
Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai, CEO and Managing Director of Indo-Russian joint project “BrahMos”, presented his new book about the project and shared his experiences of working together with Russian scientists and engineers.
The forum was attended by over 150 students-members of the youth forum and distinct social representatives from Chennai.
